Pixapro Minibox Modifiers Launch - Images shot for the Minibox 3535 Promo

February 15, 2025 in Commercial

Back in Oct 2024 I was contacted by my friends over at www.essentialphoto.co.uk to help out with the launch campaign for the new Minibox series of light modifiers.

The brief was to provide product images of the Minibox 3535 I was sent along with some short video content that could be used on social media come launch time. I was also to provide still images of the Minibox 3535 in use.

A plan was put in place and I contacted the wonderful Gwendoline Ginoux to be part of the shoot. I have worked with Gwendonline a good number of times before and knew she would be perfect for the job.

We cam up with a shoot plan with sets and outfits and got to work.

Part of the imagery that was sent over shows the modifier rigged up to a light and also some closed looks at the fine details of the new Minibox3535.

As we can see the Minibox3535 has no umbrella mechanism but instead a cleaver rod mechanism built in to the speedring base, this means it will be far far easier to use gels with this light modifier.

One use case I could see for this new modifier was as a hair / rim light. The nice compact size along with the small yet powerful AD300 Pro makes for a nice compact rig that I can use in my height limited studio space.

A BTS showing the setup. The Minibox3535 was used with both the inner baffle and outer diffuser fitted but no grid was used.

If anyone ever asks how many light do you want to light this sequin set, just say yes.

In this first portrait of Gwendoline the hair light was switched off, this is so viewers of the campaign content could see the difference it creates when on.

AD300 Pro / Minibox3535 off.

The next frame shows it switched back on. It lifts the hair and also the feathers on the dress.

Personally I feel it finishes the setup nicely given we have a number of specular highlights on the background and dress.

AD300 Pro / Minibox3535 on.

Seriously I turn my back to check Lightroom for 2 mins and this happens. lol

A few more images from the shoot.

Overall I am happy to have the Minibox3535 in the kit and will put it to good use in and out of the studio.

If you have any questions about this new modifier series hit me up in the comments below or ask in my Facebookgroup.

Thank you to the team over at Pixapro/Essential Photo for choosing to work with me, shout out to Dominica at Essential Photo for the updates on the brief.

Also thank you to the wonderful Gwendoline for working with us and providing great company and humour on set.

Thank you for reading.

Rick
